IWC Schaffhausen’s unwavering passion for the world of filmmaking continues as it marks its third year as Official ‘Festival-Time’ Partner of the Tribeca Film Festival®.

The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer will again honor the festival with a special edition watch, the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition “TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL 2015.” The timepiece is an exceptional tribute to the renowned New York- based festival, to be produced in a limited number of 100 and exclusively available for purchase in IWC boutiques within the US.

This marks the third year of continued collaboration be- tween the Tribeca Film Festival and IWC Schaffhausen. To represent its commitment to the art of filmmaking, IWC is releasing the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition “TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL 2015” (Ref. IW510111) in stainless steel, available in a limited edition of 100 pieces exclusively in the US.

“At IWC Schaffhausen, we are dedicated to providing a unique experience tied to our time- pieces, which is why we are pleased to continue partnering with the Tribeca Film Festival with the launch of a special edition,” says Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.

“Given the similarities between watchmaking and film making – the elaborate mechanics, master craftsmanship, and meticulous attention to detail and timing – it is no sur- prise that IWC supports film festivals across the globe, notably in Beijing, Zurich, London, and Dubai.”

The Portofino HandWound Eight Days Edition “TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL 2015” makes a grand entrance with this edition as an example of classically beautiful watchmaking at its finest.

With outstanding mechanical features, includ- ing the Pellaton winding system, 8-day power reserve, and date display, it demonstrates award winning qualities. Its IWC-manufactured 59210-caliber movement will run pre- cisely and reliably for a full 192 hours, or 8 days, before it automatically stops.

The power remaining can be read on the power reserve display on the dial between “8 o’clock” and “9 o’clock.” Together with the small seconds display at “6 o’clock” and the date display at “3 o’clock,” this gives the dial a pleasing equilibrium. The dial is a crisp slate color that embodies the New York City streets, while the small seconds subdial is Bordeaux-colored, symbolizing the red carpets, a glamorous mainstay of the film industry often visible around the world from film premieres to award shows.

The see-through case back bears the logo of the Tribeca Film Festival, and the lettering ONE OUT OF 100 is a reminder that only very few watch lovers will be able to secure this extra-special edition.

In addition to the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition “TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL 2015,” IWC has produced a world premiere to honor the festival and to support the Tribeca-affiliated non-profit organization, Tribeca Film Insti- tute: the Portofino Monopusher Edition “TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL 2015” Unique Piece (Ref. IW515105), a one-of- a-kind watch in 18-carat white gold.

It is available exclusively at an auction on Christie’s online-only auction platform, from April 1 to April 10 at www.christies.com/iwctribeca. The entire proceeds benefit Tribeca Film Institute.
